The Process That Men Fall in Love

Stage One – Physical Attraction

It should be no surprise that men go after a woman they are interested at first based on appearance alone. While this may seem shallow, men can't help but being driven by the instant attraction they feel towards a woman. This, however, is different for each man. They will have their own preference for what they consider attraction, so there is no “perfect type” of woman. Short, tall, blonde, red head, brown eyes, green eyes...each physical trait will vary from guy to guy.

Stage Two – Pursuit

Just because a guy is instantly attracted to a woman doesn't always mean they will move on to the second stage with them. In this stage for men, they will try to get the object of their affections' attention. In a general sense, they try to woo the women they are interested in. While physical appearance are what may get their attention at first, growing appreciation for a woman is what will make him want to pursue her and try to date her. If the woman he is interested in doesn't reciprocate his advances, or doesn't show interest, then he quickly moves on to the next. Men won't dwell on making continuous efforts because he hasn't reached the stage where he is sure he wants to invest his time in a particular woman. While he may pursue a woman he is interested in, he won't be disappointed easily if it doesn’t go anywhere at all.

Stage Three – Mutual Attraction

How men fall in love really begins in the third stage. During stage one and two, men aren't really affected by rejection. They haven't invested much time or actual interest in the women; he mainly approaches them based on physical desires over all other desires. During the third stage, he actually begins to make an effort to get the women to like him. Being rejected during this stage can lead to some pain and heartache which is why they tend to put in more effort into a woman who shows they are also interested in them. When he gets the green light that there is a mutual attraction, he'll pursue her with more intent.

Stage Four – Lasting Impression

While he may not be thinking of love during this stage, he is definitely thinking about where the relationship could end up going. During this stage, he pulls out all the stops to really impress the woman he is dating. He wants her to see him as potential mating material. Women can expect to be wined and dined by a guy in this stage because he'll want to splurge on her and take her out as much as possible. While it may not be love, he is starting to think about what could come of this.

Stage Five – The Like Stage

This can be a confusing stage for men. He may not be at the love phase just yet but he'll definitely be thinking about and more concerned with your feelings towards him. During this stage, it's not so much about how men fall in love with a woman, but more about how they can get the woman to fall in love with them. Men will be highly interested in a woman at this point but may be unsure about how to continue with the relationship. He wants to know that the woman has feelings for him before he starts considering his feelings for her, so he'll try his best to convince her that she loves him first.

Stage Six – Evaluation

Up until this stage, a man's primary goal was getting the attention and making the same woman fall for him. He hasn't stopped to ask himself what he actually feels for her. It's a pretty selfish way to go about things but until this stage, he hasn't really thought about if he actually wants a relationship with the woman yet. While he may be happy with the fact that he got the girl of his interest to fall for him, he will only now begin to ask himself the serious questions of what he likes about her or if he wants to get more serious with her. During this stage, he might withdraw a little to evaluate the relationship and during this time, he'll begin to question if he has the same feelings.

Stage Seven – Love

This is the final stage where he is either ready to fall in love or begin to lose interest. After he has evaluated his feeling for a women, he will either continue to move the relationship forward and become more intimate or the complete opposite might occur. If a guy is unsure of his feelings, he can begin to avoid a women he recently pursued because of his confusion. This can be a frustrating stage for many women who one day think everything's going perfectly and the next the guy is a complete and total jerk.
